Something in the water?

It seems as though the new Hollywood "it" trend is to go off the deep end.  You have Charlie Sheen, Christina Aguilera, Lindsay Lohan and numerous other stars who have made some questionable decisions.  And now just as the restraining order against him from Rhianna is relaxed, it seems as though Chris Brown is headed back to the dark side.  After the public domestic violence incident between the two singers two years ago, Chris Brown has been flying under the radar.  But with the release of his new album F.A.M.E, he is out on the press circuit.  He performed on ABC's Good Morning America Tuesday morning and things seemed to be under control.  Host Robin Roberts attempted to ask some questions about the Rhianna situation, but Mr. Brown graciously avoided the questions by bringing the conversation back to the album release.  He showed a little bit of frustration, but got the conversation back on track.  Successful appearance and welcome back into the limelight right?  Wrong.  After Mr. Brown left the GMA studio a window in his dressing room was found broken.  Immediately authorities believed the singer was to blame.  Mr. Brown took the situation to twitter claiming that people like Charlie Sheen get to do whatever they want and people still buy tickets to his show, but he has one mess up two years ago and people will not let him live. Soon after the comment was posted it was taken down.  It seems as the day went on Mr. Brown's behavior got more and more erratic, even displaying some off the wall behavior at his album release party that night.  Was this just Chris Brown being himself, dangerous as that may seem, or has he had some of the Hollywood water that seems to be making stars lose touch with reality.  Only time will tell as we keep a close eye on the singer.

  1. As I'm looking at the coverage of Chris Brown on E! News, I think he had such a strange demeanor that day. Then again, I'm sure that it is difficult to live down the same mistake each day, even two years later. Obviously Brown is trying to focus on showing the world that he has evolved and so has his sound with a new album. Still, his past haunted him in the interview, as I'm sure it does in most of America's mind. Though I don't support the abuse case, I do enjoy Chris Brown's music, and hope that the two-year old incident remains a story of the past. I'd hate to see him turn into a nation-wide joke like Charlie Sheen. He is too talented for that. If Chris did in fact cause the damage to the dressing room, he should release a public apology and do what most smart stars do when they make a mistake. He should address it right away, and show America that they are willing to admit and laugh at their own mistakes.

  2. Despite the fact that I cannot stand "Kiss Kiss" because it was overplayed on the radio, I agree with Shana that Chris Brown has talent. However, just because you have talent, that doesn't give you the power to do what he wants. I feel bad that Chris Brown (he's a person that you have to say both names) has to constantly relive his past, but he was the one who physically abused Rhianna and he will have to live with that the rest of his life. A different and more extreme way to look at the issue is if a murderer became reformed in prison. Just because they have acknowledged what they have done and apologized, that doesn't mean I want them out wandering the streets! Sure everyone makes mistakes, but there are some mistakes that are too hard to come back from.

  3. I love this issue because of Chris Brown's thought process. Yes, Brown may have only done "one thing" wrong, but that "one thing" was severely beat his girlfriend. He acts like he tripped and the world cannot stop bringing up his fall. Nope, the situation was much worse; especially since Rianna is also well known in Hollywood. Maybe Brown's punishment was not severe enough. Breaking a window does not sound like remorse for his actions to me. I agree with Shana, he needs to put on his big boy pants and deal with the consequences of his actions. The best move for Chris Brown right now is to show the public remorse and work on that anger of his.
